EVEN Onboarding Guide: Getting Started with Backstage

Your journey on EVEN starts with setting up your artist account. This guide walks you through how to sign in, choose your role, claim your profile, and complete your payout setup so you can start earning directly from your fans.

⚠️ Screenshots need re-capture. This copy was updated for the Artists 2.5 onboarding flow. The images from the previous flow have been removed because they no longer match the product. New screenshots needed for: Authentication, ToS Acceptance, Choose Role, Claim Your Artist Profile, Confirm Details, and the Artist Page.

Part 1: Set Up Your Profile

Step 1: Sign In

Go to backstage.even.biz.

On the Get started on EVEN for Artists screen, enter your email address and click Continue. You can switch to a phone number using the toggle next to the field, or sign in with Google or Apple.

We send you a six-digit code. Enter it to continue. If it does not arrive, use Resend code or use a different email.

There is no password to create or remember.

Step 2: Accept the Terms

You will land on Let's Get You Set Up with the Terms and Conditions. Scroll through them, then click Accept & Continue.

Step 3: Choose Your Role (Step 1 of 3)

On Which best describes you?, pick one:

  • Artist — I make music, or I'm part of an Artist's team.

  • Record Label — I represent a label managing multiple Artists.

Your choice changes what Backstage sets up, so pick the one that matches how you will actually use it. The rest of this guide follows the Artist path.

Step 4: Claim Your Artist Profile (Step 2 of 3)

Search your artist name. EVEN looks across streaming platforms and imports your name, photo, and music, so you do not build a profile from scratch.

Find yourself in the results, click Continue as [Artist Name], then confirm with Yes, this is me.

If you cannot find your profile, use Can't find your profile? to skip this step. You will add your artist name and logo by hand on the next screen instead.

If the profile is already claimed, you will see: "This profile is already linked to an EVEN account." Email support@even.biz if you think that is a mistake.

If a notice says your account may need extra verification, keep going and finish setup. If you hit something you cannot complete, email support@even.biz with your artist name.

Step 5: Confirm Your Details (Step 3 of 3)

The last screen asks for three things:

  • Your public EVEN link — the address fans use to find you, ending in .even.biz. Letters, numbers, and hyphens only. This cannot be changed later, so choose carefully. If the link is taken, you will be told and can try another.

  • Music Distributor — select yours from the list.

  • I'm registered with a PRO — tick the box and choose your PRO if this applies to you.

Click Start creating and you are in Backstage.

If Your Distributor Is an EVEN Partner

Some distributors partner with EVEN. If yours does, you will see EVEN partnered with [Distro] to bring you here and your profile is ready to go. Partner benefits include:

  • Backstage Access — upload, price, and manage your Releases in one place

  • 3 Months of Fan Connect™ — build your Fan list, send updates, stay connected

  • Boost Your Visibility — get featured in EVEN campaigns for extra promotional reach

  • Daily Payouts — receive earnings every day, in your own currency

  • Personalized Support — work directly with our team

Choose Continue with [Distro] to take it, or Set up on my own to go through standard setup.

Part 2: Publishing and Payout Setup

Your account is ready right away

Accounts are approved automatically. There is no queue and no waiting period — as soon as you finish setup you can upload, publish, and start selling.

The copyright check is the one thing that can hold up a release

Every track you upload is automatically scanned for copyright.

If a track is flagged, you cannot publish that release. If the release is already live, it is pulled from sale automatically and moved to a Disputed status. That includes tracks you add to a release later. This applies to releases published on or after 7 August 2026.

Upload early rather than on launch day, and only upload audio you hold the rights to. If a track does get flagged, see What To Do If Your Release Has A Copyright Flag for what to send us.

EVEN also runs a separate AI check. If AI-generated audio is detected, we add a disclosure tag that fans can see. It does not block your release or pull it from sale.

Step 1: Start Payout Setup

Click Set Up Your Payout Account.

You will be redirected to Stripe, the secure payment processor used by EVEN. Select Continue to Stripe to begin.

Step 2: Verify Your Account

Enter the email address you used to sign up on EVEN, then select Submit.

You will receive a verification code by text. Enter the code to continue.

Step 3: Complete Business Setup

Choose to link an existing Stripe account or create a new one.

Follow the prompts to verify your information and confirm your account details. Once verified, your Stripe account connects to EVEN automatically.

Key Considerations for Setting Up Your Artist Account on EVEN

Your EVEN link is permanent:

The public link you choose at Step 3 cannot be changed later. Pick the name you want fans to see long-term.

Profile Picture Standards:

Keep it clear and professional—no nudity, violence, or drug-related imagery. Your profile is the face of your music. Make it inviting and respectful for all. Images involving drugs, weapons, or excessive nudity may be removed.

Verify Your Music Links:

To legitimize your artist profile, link at least three music tracks. This gives fans direct access to your sound and solidifies your place in the EVEN community.

Accuracy Counts:

Fill out your profile with true and up-to-date info. When fans see transparency, trust grows. Make it a habit to keep your details up to date —from your bio to release updates.

Only claim your own profile:

Claiming a profile that is not yours can get your profile removed.

Artist Profile Picture Specs:

Make your images pop! For high-quality visuals, upload your:

  • Profile Picture: 1,080 x 1,080 px, PNG

  • Banner Image: 1,920 x 467 px, PNG

  • External Link Image: 484 x 339 px, PNG

  • Logo upload (if you skip profile claiming): PNG or JPG, 2MB maximum
