EVEN Backstage Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

We’re building EVEN Backstage so artists and their teams can manage their work without barriers. Accessibility is a core product requirement. We’re investing in processes, tooling, and training to make the EVEN Backstage platform (“Backstage”) and our public website (“Website”) inclusive for people with diverse abilities and assistive technologies.

Standards we aim to meet

We are working toward conformance with the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. As we evolve, we’ll continue to audit, remediate, and raise our targets where feasible.

Backstage (the product)

What we’re focused on

  • Keyboard-first use: All core workflows are operable with a keyboard. Logical tab order, visible focus, and skip links are being implemented across views.

  • Screen reader support: We’re improving navigation and announcements for NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack by using semantic HTML, landmarks, and ARIA where appropriate.

  • Color and contrast: We’re aligning components to meet minimum contrast ratios. We avoid conveying information by color alone.

  • Forms and errors: Clear labels, instructions, and accessible error messaging with ARIA-live regions for validation and toasts.

  • Flexible layout & zoom: Interfaces support zoom and reflow without loss of content or functionality.

  • Motion & animation: We reduce motion when the user prefers reduced motion.

  • Media: We’re working to ensure captions for videos and transcripts for audio where applicable.

Assistive technologies we consider

  • Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)

  • Magnification tools (e.g., ZoomText)

  • Braille displays and switch devices

How we build for accessibility

  • Design reviews include accessibility acceptance criteria.

  • Automated and manual audits are part of CI and release checklists.

  • We test representative user flows with assistive tech.

  • We document known issues and prioritize fixes in our roadmap.

  • We train our teams to champion accessibility across design, research, and engineering.

Website (public site)

We strive for WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance on the Website and continually improve:

  • Screen reader compatibility: Semantic headings, landmarks, and meaningful alternative text for non-decorative images.

  • Keyboard navigation: Menus, buttons, and forms are reachable and usable via keyboard. Tab and Shift+Tab move predictably.

  • Skip links: “Skip to main content” appears as the first interactive element for keyboard users.

  • Links and labels: Descriptive link text and form labels clarify purpose.

  • Responsive zoom & contrast: Content can be resized using browser controls. Text and UI meet contrast guidelines.

  • ARIA usage: Applied thoughtfully to enhance dynamic content without replacing semantic HTML.

Known limitations and ongoing work

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. Some complex views and third-party embeds may not yet fully meet our targets. When we find issues, we document them and schedule remediation according to impact and usage.
