How To Get Your EVEN Sales Reported To The Billboard Charts Through Luminate
What your release needs, from UPCs and ISRCs to minimum prices, so EVEN can report your sales to Luminate for the Billboard charts.
EVEN reports your sales to the charts for you, as long as your release carries the right codes. Here is what to set up before you publish and which sales count.
Which charts EVEN reports to, and when
We report your sales to Luminate, formerly SoundScan and MRC Data, for the Billboard charts in North America. Reporting goes out every Friday and covers purchases made during the previous week, running Friday through Thursday.
What your release needs
Your release needs a valid UPC for the album and an ISRC for every track. You enter the UPC on the release itself and an ISRC on each track while you are setting the release up in Backstage. Check both carefully before you publish, because a missing or mistyped code is the most common reason sales do not get counted.
EVEN does not issue UPCs or ISRCs
You bring your own codes. Most artists get them from their distributor, so start there, since UPCs and ISRCs are usually part of what you already pay for. If you run a label or you would rather handle it yourself, you can apply for codes directly through your local ISRC agency.
Which sales count
Albums need a valid UPC and each track needs its own ISRC, otherwise the sale cannot be reported.
Only sales made at the initial checkout count toward the charts, so an Access Point bought on its own afterwards is not included.
Luminate sets minimum prices, so albums must sell for at least $7.99 USD and individual tracks for at least $0.69 USD, or the equivalent in your currency.
Do you need to register the release yourself?
No. As long as your UPC and ISRCs are correct, EVEN handles the reporting for you and there is nothing for you to file.
If a release comes off sale later
If a release stops selling, whether you take it down or a copyright flag moves it to Disputed and it is pulled from sale, the sales that were already submitted for a reporting period are not withdrawn. The release stops earning from that point, so it will not add new sales to future reporting periods.
